Meet the Team |
The Townfield team is a talented, energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated and committed bunch! The Governors have worked hard to ensure staff recruitment results in people who share our vision and create the TPS ethos. We value the work of all staff whatever their role, they each play a vital part in our team. The team includes teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, lunchtime staff, cleaners, a caretaker, a lollipop lady, kitchen staff and a headteacher.
We are ably supported by a devoted band of Governors, many who play very active roles within the school. To help us work, rest and play hard we hold various team building activities throughout the year, from meals out to adventurous activities at the Oaklands Outdoor Education Centre!
Under the initiative of remodelling the workforce we looked carefully at what this meant to us and agreed on the following statement:
‘We agreed that we wanted to look at this across the whole school workforce, enabling everyone in the school community to carry out their role as well as possible and to do our very best for the children at TPS.
To use this as an opportunity to rethink, try different things, take risks and above all to be creative!’
Our decision to enable teachers to focus on raising standards follows research to prove that teachers were working up to sixty hours a week, often undertaking administrative jobs, leaving them exhausted each day for their teaching. Now teachers can focus back on the learning of the children and have the required energy each day to be able to inspire children to learn. This has only been possible through the work of the teaching assistants, supporting teaching, office staff, supporting administration tasks.
