The Office Staff

The role of the office is to support everyone; including the children, parents, teachers,  Governors, visitors and the community of Townfield.

The first point of communication for many parents and visitors is through the school office, either when visiting in person or telephoning the school.

The staff in the office include Mrs Williams, our long serving Administrative Assistant, Mrs Derry our newly appointed Administrative Assistant who are both managed by Mrs Lockwood, our School Office Manager.  Also located in the office is Mr Jones, School Business Manager and Mrs Wheeldon, TEDS Administrative Assistant.

In addition to being the School Office Manager, Mrs Lockwood is also our Clerk to Governors, which involves her communicating regularly with the Governors and outside agencies, attending termly meetings to take comprehensive minutes. Mrs Williams is also a Governor within the school.

The work undertaken in the office includes reception duties, greeting visitors to the school and being the face of Townfield together with typing the weekly newsletter, Townfield Times, letters and reports for teaching staff, photocopying, counting all money that come into the school and the administration of the educational visits our children take part in throughout the year.  This is in addition to the day to day running of what is a very busy office.

Since remodelling of the workforce in 2003, the office space has grown considerably and the work undertaken by the staff within the office has grown two fold. Everyone’s role within the school office has changed over the years, with more responsibility and demands being placed upon this busy area of the school.

The office staff holds a current First Aid certificate as well as having undertaken Child Protection Training.  In addition they attend regular training which allows them to continually update their skills.
